Thriving Pets Wellness Plans – Faq’s



What’s included in the Thriving Pets plan?
  • Unlimited free access to online telehealth vet chats and advice with a Your PetPA registered veterinarian (not available through veterinary clinics); and
  • All your flea, tick, intestinal worm, and heart worm prevention delivered direct to your home address at the end of each relevant month dependant on your local vet recommendation. This is not available for collection via your veterinary clinic.
  • Unlimited in-clinic consultations (reimbursed up to $75 per consultation), provided that an appointment has been made with the veterinary clinic during normal clinic hours. Consultations performed outside of normal clinic hours, including weekends and/or public holidays, veterinary specialists or behaviour consultations aren’t included in the plan. Consultations must be performed by a Veterinarian.
  • One standard annual vaccination as recommended by your veterinarian (reimbursement up to a cost of $100);
  • $100 Wellness Screen Allowance (blood test) annually (reimbursed);
  • $100 Dental Allowance annually* (reimbursed) or
  • $100 Desexing Allowance annually* (reimbursed);
  • 10% off all purchases made at www.yourpetpa.co.nz. Excluding parasite prevention and pharmacy medications.
  • * $100 Dental Allowance is for pets 12 months of age or older and the $100 Desexing Allowance is for a Puppy or Kitten that is less than 12 months old and not desexed.
How do I make a claim for my plan benefits?

If you would like to make a claim for a veterinary consultation, annual vaccination, wellness screen, dental or desexing procedure, you need to simply log into your Thriving Pets account with your email address and password (as created when you initially joined Thriving Pets) and select My Claims. You will be asked to nominate your claim type and to upload a copy of the tax invoice issued when you received and paid for those services.

How long does it take for a claim to be paid?

Claims are reviewed daily (except on weekends). Once a claim is approved, payment is made into the nominated bank account within 48 hours.

How do I receive my 10% discount when I shop with www.yourpetpa.co.nz?

Once you have joined Thriving Pets you will be eligible for 10% off the online store at yourpetpa.com.au, excluding parasite prevention and pharmacy medications. You will need to create an account at yourpetpa.co.nz using the same email address as your Thriving Pets account and use the promotional code ‘Thriving’ during the checkout process.

What products will you send me for parasite prevention?

We are guided by your local veterinary practice when you join Thriving Pets. We will send you the parasite prevention that is recommended by your referring vet practice. However, it will be one of our premium brands such as NexGard, NexGard Spectra, Bravecto, Simparica or Revolution and in the relevant dosage for your pet’s size and weight.

Will Thriving Pets save me money?

Absolutely! Our goal is to make premium pet wellness care achievable and affordable for all pet parents. We want to provide peace of mind, take the stress out of paying for the necessities and offer the best pet wellness care for your pet. Check out our savings calculators for more information.

How do I cancel my membership?

Each Thriving Pets membership is valid for a twelve-month period. We understand things can change and we are available to discuss your membership cancellation options. Should you cancel within your twelve-month period, and you pay monthly, you may be required to pay the difference between the total savings obtained on both the services provided and claims made, and the total amount of membership fees paid to date. This is outlined in the terms and conditions.

If my pet goes to live with someone else, can the membership transfer?

Our Customer Support team is happy to discuss any reasonable changes, as long as new contact details and payment information is provided and the new membership holder gives their explicit consent.

Can I transfer the membership to another pet?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer a membership to another pet due to differences in treatment requirements for species and breeds. We recommend contacting our Customer Support Team if you have any questions.

What if my pet passes away?

If your pet passes away while your Thriving Pet’s membership is still active, please get in touch with us at your earliest convenience to organise cancellation.

Can I join for less than 12 months?

Our Thriving Pets membership is a 12-month minimum. We believe that pet wellness is a continuous cycle, therefore we recommend consistent care. Our plans have been created to provide the annual health services required to keep your pet on a wellness pathway across all stages of their life journey.

How long am I obligated to make monthly payments?

Your Thriving Pets membership plan is for a 12-month period and, if paid monthly, is automatically renewed each year. If you wish to cancel your membership at the conclusion of a 12-month period, please contact us at least 14 days before the renewal date to cancel your membership.

What happens if my Puppy or Kitten has growth exceeding the original weight range?

That’s not a problem. You will just need to update your pet’s weight in your Thriving Pets account, and we will send you the appropriate products.
